In the South, Grassroots movements have always brought about change in the communities they form in. The country's strongest civil rights movements were born here. The largest barrier to supporting and sustaining grassroots movements in specifically North Alabama, is the lack of funding, resources, and support. RAIN which sprouted from Gadsden,AL is a coalition of individuals and organizations committed to fighting injustice by supporting and providing resources to these marginalized communities fighting for their rights. We believe marginalized communities and specifically the BIPOC community knows exactly the injustices they face in their homewtowns and how to address them. We uplift them in demanding justice.
What we have done so far
RAIN will continue to connect and network with individuals and organizations to bring about the change that we so desperately need in the South.
If you would like to as an individual or organization to be a part of this coalition, please send us an email or contact us.
Addressing the community's needs is an important part of building a community that is fair for everyone. The Free Store promotes mutual aid over charity to support those in need. Connect with us if you'd like to help uplfit our community.
We believe the future lies in the hands of our youth. It is up to us to invest and guide them so that they can thrive. Project Speak Out provides leadership development, mentorship, and opportunities to the youth that will help them reach their full potential.
We have partnered with the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama to advance equity in our communities. This is a vehicle of investment to local organizations committed to addressing inequities on the institutional level.
