In Project Speak Out, our kids not only participate but take an active role in the development of community projects. We want to provide the training and mentorship our kids need so that they are empowered to enact change in their own communities.
We are devoted in advancing equity for marginalized youth in our communities. We welcome children of all backgrounds but understand the unique barriers our BIPOC youth face. Project Speak Out is a culturally sensitve space where all of our kids will be uplifted and valued.
Project Speak Out is rich in programs and partnerships that our youth can participate in. From Community Service to Exposure to the STEAM field, Project Speak Out is an organization that will connect the youth to the activities they are most passionate about.
Founder of Project Speak Out youth organization, and founder of Royal elite queens dance company. I was born and raised in Gadsden, Al. Growing up in this community I realize that there was a major need for a youth lead organization in our city. I wanted to create a safe place for our youth to be themselves. Growing up I never had the opportunity to express myself I always felt like people were always judging me and my actions, so I felt like I had to be perfect at everything and anything less than that was not acceptable. I didn’t come from a rich family so I knew if I wanted better I had to make it possible, but that is hard to do when you are surrounded by no opportunities and little to no resources. So I said enough is enough let me be that bridge, no more waiting on opportunities to come our way the time has come for us to create our own opportunities. I have been faced with so many obstacles but I never gave up, this life that we live is all about choices and I choose to save our youth and our community. A wise woman once told me, “write the vision down and make it plain, life isn’t a destination it’s a journey!”
